Birthday bottles 🍬 I was sharing bottles from the producers I do enjoy a lot, like the ones from @andreas_durst and @parmantierfrereetsoeur, but these two are new to me. The first is a highly praised Champagne, and the other is a laser-sharp Gringet from Domaine Belluard. The wine was vinified by Ganevat. Romain Henin, Entre Les Gouttes 2021 (deg. 2024) A blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 10% Pinot Meunier, and 30% Chardonnay, this cuvée appears classic on paper. However, it doesn’t taste like a typical champagne. If I had to guess, I’d label it a rosé, like with around 5% Coteaux Champenois red, reminded us Egly-Ouriet’s rosé. The nose was tight, so we aired the bottle for an hour. Good complexity with a clearly oxidative style. It shows deep and dark color - also aroma-wise. There are notes of ripe apples, sweet spices, crushed red cherries, raspberries, along with hints of caramel and toffee. The finish is interesting, thanks to its grippy texture. While airing it out helped, it still screams for bottle aging. Domaine Belluard, Monsieur Gringet 2020 Very mineral, with layers of fresh herbs, green apples and unripe citrus. It has a long maturation on lees, giving it a smoothness. But it still is very racy. The fruity aromas are still developing. It’s pretty, clean, and focused. #winediaries #champagnelovers #winesofinsta #instawein #romainhenin #chassagnemontrachet #vinvivant #savoie #gringet #unicornwine
