Not just one single bottle but the entire winery was something I didn’t understand 1.5 years ago. I was stuck in my ‘final judgement’ about Hure Freres. While studying Montagne de Reims, I had the great fortune this year - to thoroughly explore their entire range from top to bottom. It took me time to grasp their style. It definitely changed my perspective and even my palate. Challenging. Finesse. In the northern Montagne de Reims, Hure crafts delicate, intellectual wines. They usually need air,a carafe and time. These are wines that require you to spend a little time around them. Otherwise they may seem a bit too lean or even forced. Patience is not my strength, but here, in this case, after tasting 4-Elements which truly show what a lieu-dit, one single vintage and grape can be, and Memorie next to them, (may be an antithesis to 4 Elements?
