Piemont Study Curra and Rio Sordo, both Crus are very rich in calcium and produced not bold but rather medium bodied wines. But these wines are coming from different zones of Barbaresco and showing major differences. Produttori’s Rio Sordo(2013) is one of the most elegant wines of the tasting for me. Silky tannins, addictive acidity of backbone with a bright fruity touch. The red fruitiness brings a lot of joy. I love how vibrant and elegant this Barbaresco is. Rio Sordo is not famous as Rabaja but still, a part of Comune di Barbaresco. Rocca’s Curra(2016) definitely is louder. On the palate it is voluminous. Rocca’s Curra, from Neive zone, is structured so well and at the same time, it is very generous and enjoyable. Great persistence on the fruit! #italianwine #nebbiolo #barbaresco #winediary #winestudy #piemonte
